Greetings TICKET Fans!
Hello [NAME],
It is hard to believe that a year ago today we were packing our bags and heading to NYC to start rehearsing our Off-Broadway run of THE TICKET. Thanks to your efforts, support and guidance we took the first big step to bringing our musical to fruition. Since that time we’ve been busy evaluating audience response, re-writing the show, and creating new characters and songs to carry us further down the Campaign Trail in this upcoming election year!
We’d like to announce that our New Website is up and running! You can check it out at:
http://www.theticketanewmusical.com/
Gary, Margaret & Yours Truly have been working hand in hand with Aerowebworks Web Design to bring a much more professional look to our internet presence. On the website you can listen to songs from THE TICKET, get the lowdown on our upcoming productions, learn about investor opportunities and generally check out our act. We hope you like it!
Here’s what we’ve been doing in 2007:
Gary has re-written the show to make it politically smarter, funnier and faster paced. We’ll be highlighting a lot more of the back-room dealings that take place behind the scenes in a political race. Due to popular audience response our loveable Trustafarian Justin Nelson is now back in the race as the Green Party candidate. We’ve also added some more commercials that we think you’ll find amusing as well.
Gary went to San Diego this summer for a successful reading of the new script. He has just returned from Chicago where he met with a potential producer/investor in the theater industry. Gary will be heading to New York to meet with a producer and interview potential director candidates in November.
Last week we headed back into the studio to record some songs for both the website and our demo cd / promo package. We recorded our opening number “Dreamers” as well as the Spider Brown feature “I’ve Got To Score”. These should be up on the site by the time you receive this. I think you’ll enjoy them.
Our primary goals for THE TICKET this year are to:
Perform a 4-6 week run of the show this spring in a major city. This will be a tune-up run before heading back to NYC.
Return to Off Broadway for a 12 week run in the Fall of 2008. Our timing is critical as we hope to generate a buzz for the show to coincide with the 2008 presidential race.
So that’s what we have on our plate for 2008. If you have thoughts, feedback, or connections you’d like to share with us please let us know. In addition, if you wish to forward this email on to someone who might be interested in THE TICKET please feel free to do so! Grass-roots support (in theater as well as politics) is what we’re all about!
On behalf of the entire TICKET Team I would like to thank each and every one of you again for your Love, Support & Guidance in making THE TICKET better than ever in Election Year 2008!
All the Best,
